Happy Halloween, y'all!
Previously: All about the pooch Friday, October 27I read this article this morning and found it an interesting read.
The husband and I are in bed and I ask him, "Do you think the 'doodle has self-awareness?"
The husband glances over at said 'doodle. He is sprawled out on his back in the middle of our bed, all fours dangling in the air, tongue hanging out. We hear slight snoring accompanied by the rise and fall of his tiny chest. The pooch is completely exhausted from the day's events. His weathered bone and plushy jack toy are at the foot of the bed.
"Oh, I am pretty sure that dog is very much aware of himself.
After all, it is all about the Strummer."
We had a good chuckle.
Previously: Yay! Tuesday, October 24My college roommate Yesenia is coming for a visit this weekend!
Yay!
Previously: My husband is Superman Saturday, October 21The husband is hard at work preparing our front and back lawns for the winter. It definitely makes for a long and tiring day mowing down the lawn to next to nothing. I helped him bag up the massive piles of shavings (close to 20 full size lawn bags of grass clippings) and I am exhausted just doing that.
Tonight, we are ordering take-out from Olympic Flame via Delicious Deliveries and watching the game.
Tomorrow, we spread out the topper on the lawn!
Previously: I feel like a beached whale Friday, October 20I feel like a beached whale. We celebrated Marc's 49th birthday at City Hall and methinks I indulged in too much!
We sat in their outside patio, next to the giant fireplace. I had a nice Ferrari-Carano Siena (very smooth), a cup of french onion soup, a petite filet cooked medium rare, a side of lobster mashed potatoes, a side of creamed corn, and a side of their gongonzola gnocchi with truffle oil. Plus, we ordered the butter cake with creme fraiche for dessert. Oink-oink.
It was a fabulous night. Awesome weather, delicious food, great service, wonderful company, laugh out loud conversations. Cheers to a perfect evening!
Previously: Overheard Friday, October 13One sided cell phone onversation overheard while waiting to see my rheumatologist.
"...no, I'm just saying you need to be careful! You don't want to lose that child...Uh-huh, that is the reason you have to think about what you are doing! You have to make sure this isn't illegal or you will lose him!...No, I think you need to make sure you get out of re-hab first before you think about doing that..."
The conversation ends briefly before woman dials another number.
"...Hi, it's me...Yes, I'm good. Listen, I was just calling to make sure Mom's not coming over tonight....No? Good. We have to make sure she stays away...I dont' want her freaking out because the FBI is knocking on the door, you know how she gets..."
And then that's when I got called into see my doctor.
